Even Cowkittens Get the Blues

Kate tried to buy this postcard on eBay, but she got way outbid. If you don't see the kittens, try opening the photo in a separate window and enlarging it.

The story can now be told. That's me (left) and my sister, Aunt Ellen (right)! Yes!! We were cowgirls in our youth and always, always carried kittens. Here's what we used to sing as we poked along the dusty trails:

"...take my saddle from the wall
put it on to my pony
lead him out of his stall..
put my kitten on my shoulder
turn our faces to the west
and we'll ride the prairies that we love the best"
